Course Description:
For agencies that choose not to use the on-line version of I-100, “Introduction to ICS,” the IMTC “Introduction to ICS” will provide the course in a classroom setting using its highly-qualified instructors.  The IMTC I-100 course is NIMS-compliant and enables individuals to learn the ICS principles, structure, and terminology they will need in order to participate in an event or incident using the Incident Command System.

Selected Course Objectives:
After successfully completing the course, participants will have entry–level NIMS compliance for ICS team member participation.  They will be qualified to:

• List the five (5) major organizational activities within the Incident Command System and explain their primary functions.
• Describe the terms used to name major incident facilities and state the function of each.
• Describe how span-of-control functions within the incident organization and in the use of resources.
• Describe the common responsibilities (general instructions) associated with incident or event assignments.

Course Length:
4 hours of classroom time. 

Target Audience:
Entry-level personnel assisting in an incident or event, persons working in support roles, and off-incident personnel who require basic orientation that will facilitate ICS support role interoperability, thus aiding in achievement of NIMS standards at the incident or off-site.
